Symmetrix has been apart of the Vancouver community for almost 30 years. That means working with clients to improve their physical health, taking part in community events and not least of all, supporting the people in our community. With that in mind, we recently decided to sponsor the BC-based social justice group Latinos & Amigos.
Their goal is to support and empower the Latin LGBT community through health, education, culture and entertainment. They not only focus on BC but try to shine a spotlight on international issues facing the LGBT community. We talked with a member of the group and was able to provide support to help them continue that fight. It will go a long way in helping them creating a growing network of support for Latinos (and their Amigos) in the Vancouver area.
The Symmetrix staff are highly trained kinesiologists whose goal is to provide our clients with high-quality personal training and exercise rehabilitation services. However, we're also real people who understand that there needs to be greater awareness and action against the current prejudices, difficulties and anti-LGBT crimes that we so frequently hear.
To learn more about Latinos & Amigos you can reach them on their Instagram page here. Their guiding quote is one we can all look to for inspiration when we're fighting the good fight:
"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has." — Margaret Mead
